this diwali was no much different than earlier years , except some members who could not be there this time..but still there was the same pleasing combination of gifts, sweets,relatives and crackers..and pollution.
one thing that was different were the jams all over delhi.there was no way you could get from one point to another without taking more than twice the time it usually takes in peak hours..from an overview, it looked like a hollywood movie where a comet is about to hit the city and everybody is fleeing..anything that operated on land seemed to be fixed on road..
you could have walked faster than any motored vehicle(i had to do that for 2 kms)
the picture below was taken by me at 1 am of a place which is usually deserted in the night ..if it is not visible i can tell you that there are scores of people sitting on buses and hundreds on foot..
now i m over that but the workload that i have for the next 2 weeks is pretty huge..i spent all my time during diwali thinking of the work ahead..and when i got to
switch on my pc after diwali..the hard disk crashed
..since then i have not been able to do a single thing..during the next week i have 5 term paper and 5 presentations left..i cannot think what can be worse than this.i have no idea what the profs want from us..the thought of going through it gives me shivers..but i think its better not to think of it..so i think i ll go and work on it and hope i emerge out alive after this ordeal..see you on the other side
